the way to Rewire Fluorescent lighting fixtures to LED

1. protection first: flip off the energy!

before touching any wires, turn the circuit breaker for the light. test the switch to make sure no energy is going for walks—you don’t want a shocking surprise! clutch a screwdriver (insulated ones are fine) and get rid of the fluorescent light cover. You’ll see the vintage tube, ballast (a square field), and wires linked to it.

2. cast off the antique parts (say goodbye to the ballast)

Take out the fluorescent tube first—it usually twists or slides out. subsequent, unscrew the ballast from the fixture. cut the wires connected to it (there ought to be 2-four wires) and strip about 1cm of insulation from the ends. Toss the ballast—LEDs don’t need it, so it’s just extra weight now!

3. join the LED wires (it’s like matching colorations)

LED lighting fixtures come with wires: commonly black (or crimson) and white. in shape the black/pink LED cord to the black "warm" twine from your ceiling. Twist them together and cap with a cord nut. Do the same with the white LED wire and the white "impartial" twine from the ceiling. If there’s a green or bare copper wire (floor), join it to the LED’s inexperienced wire (if present) or the fixture’s steel frame.

4. take a look at and end up

Slide the new LED tube into vicinity—it need to match effortlessly. turn the power again on and turn the switch. If it lighting fixtures up, you’re done! Screw the cover again on. If now not, flip off the energy once more and take a look at the cord connections—unfastened nuts are the maximum not unusual offender. See? manner simpler than fixing a puzzle!
